Just recently, we had a dog arrive at our door named Kahn. At 7 years old and 103 pounds, this gentle giant had seen tremendous heartache and neglect. Our medical team began immediately to render care. He had a previously surgically removed eye as well as a huge wound on his front leg. Kahn also suffered from heartworm and skin problems. He is waiting for his new home, and his wounds and disease are being treated, but at a tremendous cost to our system.
